The Big plan of ASOS.com in India?

Online shopping may well have replaced diamonds as a girl's best friend.
And few people have bigger success stories to tell in this space than Lord Waheed Alli. The former founding chairman of Asos.com, the UK-based leader of the online high street cult, is now looking to ply his trade at Koovs.com, an Indian fashion portal that’s hoping to follow the same trajectory.

rajnitsharma1990@gmail.com “When we started Asos 12 years ago, there were a handful of us with four million dollars that we’d raised on the UK stock exchange,” Alli recalls, adding, “And when I left at the end of last year, we were worth 3.5 billion dollars.”

The stratospheric ascent, he attributes to three basic elements: trendy clothes of good quality, competitive prices, and the ability to sell to a bored teenager just browsing the web from her cellphone.
Now, overseeing the launch of Koovs’s first namesake fashion line, Koovs Private Label, Alli insists the same principles apply.  “We’re launching trendy, quality clothing at great prices. We’re not going all out to promote ourselves, because if the clothes are good, people will talk about them. That’s how we live or die in the market.” With him, Alli brings former Asos product director Robert Bready as creative director for Koovs.
While he hasn’t noticed any distinction between the UK market and India – except for our studied love of “sparkle”- Alli promises that all the label’s collections will be as trend forward as the offerings on any international portal.
It's clear that they do not want to depend solely on local clothing manufacturers to keep up with the frenetic pace of fashion trends. And unlike with Asos, Indian customers don't have to wait two weeks to get their hands on the products.
“I was at the New York Fashion Week, and the trends that were on display for Spring/Summer 2013 can all be found in this collection. We have ‘monoplay’ which is black and white, and ‘70s romance (as seen at Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton)," says Alli.

Plans for the website include finding more “Indian-looking models” to connect better with the customer and that all-important catchphrase: designer collaborations.
“There are three in place, but we can only make the formal announcements once the legalities are complete. But I can promise it’ll be a mix – some unknown designers that will blow you away with their talent, and household names that you’ve always wanted to see online.”

First it was Lulia Vnetur and now it is Bruna Abdullah. Firstly his alleged girlfriend was especially offered a special role and the icing on the cake was Salman Khan himself turning teacher to help out her in learning Hindi.

it was Salman Khan is widely known for his helping nature towards the upcoming actors and actress. Adding another sensuous Bollywood diva to the list, the sturdy actor is currently busy grooming the Brazilian beauty Bruna Abdalah's Hindi speaking skills.

Bruna was last seen showcasing her sexy moves in a party song of Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer 'Desi Boyz'. She has also played a cameo in Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer 'I Hate Love Stories'.

According to a source, "Bruna will be seen playing yet another small role in the much awaited upcoming film 'Mental'. She received a call from Sohail Khan Productions to play the part in the film, which she has already agreed to do."

Despite being offered with a small role, Bruna took it as a huge opportunity of getting to work with such big Bollywood star Salman Khan. After signing the film, it turned to be a learning experience for the sensuous beauty. If the sources are to be believed, Salman Khan helped her the most in learning to speak fluent Hindi. The Dabangg Khan's teachings worked even more than her language teacher Ujjwala.

Talking to the reporters Bruna said, "Whenever we get ready to shoot a sequence of the film, Salman comes up with a brand new idea and the scene was transformed. According to the change in the scenes, the lines of the actors were also changed. With every change in dialogs, I had to rehearse for my new lines. Initially, it was really tough for me, but Salman made it way easier for me. This experience has given me a lot of confidence and now I myself can dub my lines. Now, I am looking forward to work with the actors like Salman Khan and Tabu."

Adding more words to her statement, Bruna said, "I have been learning Hindi from a lady professor Ujjwala, who basically belongs to Germany, from last 6 months. So, she has been teaching me Hindi in the German methods that are way more logical and specific than Hindi. That's why it's not helping me out. Even after this much time, I wasn't grammatically correct at Hindi. But after working with Salman, I am able to dub my lines."

DENIM ON DENIM

Nothing looks more comfy cool than denim on denim; which is exactly what I needed to get me through the day.
Nothing like comfy flats for traveling back and forth from the hotels, some fun neon accessories, and a "lucky" necklace to lift my spirits during the crazy couple of days!

Monsoon Fashion What to wear and when?

That time of the year again - yes, when it is raining cats and dogs. There are puddles to braved over, there is water everywhere and not all of it is wanted! So, how does one manage to step out for work, for college and still manage to look fashionable while trying to save yourself from the water and still make comfort the priority!
Rockying looks at some of the most fashionable monsoon essentials that will make you look super cool and keep it trendy, fun and comfortable! Remember, to mix and match according to the requirements - varying from a drizzle to a heavy downpour.

  1. Rain Boots / Gumboots
When there is a heavy downpour and you have to walk through; then rain boots are your answer. Though they might be a little uncomfortable and might feel heavy; they will keep your feet dry. Given the condition of Indian roads and the polluted water all around, rain boots seem the perfect solution for a walkthrough. Get yourself a pair and make walking around easier! Make sure you pick out bright colors to brighten up your day!
  2. Umbrellas
The staple of the rainy season. Make sure you have something that is large yet easily foldable! Large because they will be people who might step by under your umbrella if there is a heavy downpour and foldable because you can store it easy. Be extra careful that your umbrella is sturdy and doesn’t blow off if there is a little strong wind!
  3. Keep it short
Yes, though many people say you should go for denim and leggings on rainy day; we would say, keep it short if possible. There is nothing worse than a big blotch of a puddle on your pants. And then, having to go through the whole day with wet pants! Opting for shorter skirts, capris, knee length dresses or just denim shorts for a casual day might be a much better choice to go with.
  4. Trench coat
If it’s a heavy downpour and a little chilly, then trench coats are a must have. Not only they help in keeping you dry, they will keep your clothes from getting dirty. Choose coats that drape well (not too tight nor too loose) and that are longer than regular leather jackets.
  5. Waterproof Bags
You are going to be carrying a lot - your wallet, your umbrella and maybe an extra pair of leggings just in case. And one common mishap is when you realize that your bag got wet due to the rain and everything inside it is also wet and spoilt! Save yourself time and energy and go out with a nylon tote maybe. They provide the space and don’t absorb water.
  6. Waterproof Watches
Another neglected essential. The careful way to be is to make sure your watch is waterproof while buying it. Quite a lot of watches now come with that ease, so it shouldn’t be difficult.
  7. Color
Though many people choose to stick to black and grey; there is no reason why you shouldn’t add a dash of color to your ensemble. Another thing to be kept in mind is stay away from white - probably something your mom told you a million times! There is nothing that gets dirtier easily. Mud marks, splashes and just a bad downpour can make you look dirty if dressed in white. Keep away!
  8. Hooded Raincoats
If you have your hands full and want to have it all in one, then go for a hooded raincoat. Saves you the trouble of having to carry an umbrella and you have your hands free!
  9. Flip flops
Though they might be a little uncomfortable if there is too much water on the roads; flip flops make the perfect wear for a walk through a light drizzle. Not only are they very affordable, they are waterproof and dry easy! Coming in various colors and many styles, flip flops make the perfect footwear.
  10. Go light on the makeup
You don’t want to look like you have walked out of a horror movie. Either opt for waterproof kajals and mascaras or go light. Too much foundation can get greasy. If you dare, then go for the natural clean look during the rain!
  11. Tie up your mane
Monsoon is definitely not the best time to let your hair loose. Hair tends to get frizzy during the weather. Keep it dry and well moisturized and tie it up in loose braids or just a simple ponytail. If you are the daring then cut it short!
